QuickSay

QuickSay provides access to your address book and keeps track of which contacts you've used recently. Updating your Facebook status, sending a Tweet (iOS 5 only), text or email, or making a phone call to a recently used contact becomes easy.

On the opening page your most recently used contacts will be listed first, followed by social networks, then everyone in your address book.

You can remove people from your list of recent contacts using the "Edit" button. This does NOT remove them from your address book.

Use the search box to find a specific contact.

The list will update as you type, showing the contacts that match what you've typed so far.

After selecting a contact you'll see this page, showing everything that QuickSay can do something useful with.

So far QuickSay knows how to handle email addresses, phone numbers and Twitter usernames, but there are plans to handle other types of address book data too.

If you choose an email address then you'll see the usual email composition page, with the recipient address filled in ready for you to add a subject and type your message before pressing the "Send" button.

If you choose a phone number then you'll be given a choice of how to use that number.

So far QuickSay can place a phone call, send a text message, or pass the phone number to the Skype application. There are plans to add more options to this menu.

If you choose a Twitter username (iOS 5 only) then the system’s built-in Tweet composition dialog will appear, ready for you to enter your message and press send.

Updating your Facebook status is easy too.

Finally, the contact you just chose and used will be moved to the top of the list of recently used contacts, making it easier to find and interact with that contact later.
